Emergency exit

Postby philtronics » Wed Dec 29, 2010 9:12 am

I heard about those guys stuck on the tarmac for 11 hours or something at JFK yesterday. It's unbelievable. I'm pretty sure that after about 3 - 4 hours or so I would be ready to go out the emergency exit. I could spend the night in jail, on a nice firm bed, which would be a pretty good alternative.

It seems like it would get me off the plane, but would they let everybody else off too? Anybody know how much trouble I'd be in?

This sounds like a good question to post in the "Ask The Flight Attendant" forum....

You would think that they could bring a stair trucks to the plane and have everybody unboard and put on a tram car back to the gate. I understand when there aren't any open gates to go back to but what about using stair trucks to unboard? At the very least, it would be nice to be able to restock the planes stuck on the tarmac with food and empty the sewer tanks so the toilets don't overflow.
My bags are packed, I just need airline tickets.
